Day 8: A thank you letter to someone who has changed your life.

Soo I've been putting this off all day. Because I have had no clue (and still don't) who I'm going to write my letter to. See, dear friends, I am someone who finds so much to be personal; I don't share a ton (which makes it kindof funny that I have a blog, right? Ha!), and the initial people that pop into my head make me think "Um, no, I'm not going to blog about that person!" You know what I mean? Yeah, I'm a little weird sometimes.

But after sitting here for like 5 minutes, after writing that first paragraph, my person has come to me. It may not be someone I know personally, but oh well! It is someone who has had some impact on my life, and that's what counts. ;)

Ahem.

Dear Steven Curtis Chapman,

You know, ever since I was little, your music has been playing in the background of my life; from my mother playing it throughout the house, to my aunts playing it in the car, you've been a household name!

When you lost Maria Sue, my heart just broke for you and your family. I can't even begin to imagine the pain you must have been feeling; except that I can imagine it, because you shared it with us. With all of us! I know that your Beauty Will Rise CD was like a way of journaling; of venting, almost. It was your way to express some of what you were feeling, to get some of it out. And I am so, so grateful that you published it, when you definitely did not have to.

That album has impacted me more than you could know. God has used it in so many incredible ways, not just in me, but in countless people. Your words are so powerful; and it's as if the emotions you've put into the songs can be felt so strongly, just by listening to them.

So, Steven Curtis Chapman, I thank you. I thank you for publishing those songs, your thoughts, your heart's cries...and sharing them with us. I wonder if you know just how much it truly means to so many people.

SCC is one of my favorite singers PERIOD. His song, 'Dive', was my first true 'Christian' song...and his song 'Heavan is the Face' makes me cry every time I hear it. *wipes away tear*

    So yeah, great post. (:
