day 24: a movie no one would expect you to love

Ha! So this works out well, because I was actually planning on talking about a particular movie today...

Jurassic Park. (Ha, isn't that a humorous picture?)
Jurassic Park is actually like, a totally feel-good movie for me. I know, I know, that's crazy, and makes NO sense whatsoever. But it's sooo not the fact that people are getting eaten by dinosaurs! Pfft.
I love to watch this movie in wintertime, when it's all nasty and terrible and depressing outside, simply because of the rain and the thunderstorm. :o Not to mention the green that's everywhere, and the trees, and the obvious warmth emanating from the screen!! Oh, and you've got birds (dinosaurs?) and bugs chirping all throughout the background.
It's like a temporary escape from the seemingly neverending cold and snow outside.
And yes, I do realize that there are other summer-y movies, but just not like this ;)

And I do, in fact, love this movie. Did you ever expect that? ;D

  1. I saw that movie! It's pretty good, and funny because it's an old "horror" movie. I love the music from it, John Williams for the win!!

  5. Hey Lauren!

Thanks for commenting on my blog! It made my day!

Ahh... don't feel bad about being emotional; I was tearing up as I wrote that about my dad. :P I think daughters always have a special bond with their fathers - at least I do.

Your blog is so beautiful! I remember that a while ago I typed out a long comment, but somehow lost it and got discouraged, so I never did end up commenting. Anyway, I love your blog, and I'll definitely be back!

    Love,
    -Kylie

  6. I've never actually seen that movie either. Heh heh... I think I caught a snip-it of it when I was like really young, and I was so scared I was scarred for life. But I think I got over it. AHHH what is THAT?!--oh, it's my dog. *whew* Like I said, I got over it. ;)

  8. I love this movie to! though it's not so feel good for me, I can understand what you mean. Between the tropical warmth, and the green, I am starting to feel heat already!

  9. Hmmm, the first one is hilarious, (I can't help but laugh at the old animatronics!) but I secretly have the entire soundtrack on my Zune and sometimes play it on a loop. >.>

You, dear lady, have a lovely blog. :)

  10. Yay for Lauren! :D

This movie is classic! Good choice, and I totally understand the warmth side of it all, too.

I have to agree as well, John Williams FTW! He's a favorite.

  11. Ha, a little late commenting.....
but actually, I've never seen any of these movies!!! Just snippets of them here and there---I always seem to come in on the part where they're in some sort of cage, and they have to escape.....not sure which movie that is. (:
