Whiskers: A Curious Thing.

So today, I was playing with our puppy, Lily, as I often do. At one point, I realized something...she has whiskers!! Now, I mean, that's not that special of a thing. At all. But I've never comprehended the fact that she has whiskers before? And yeah, I was just totally wowed. Because I mean, when I think "whiskers", I think "cat!!".
I may even think, "big cat!!"
(yikesabee!)
But alas, here is a puppy. With whiskers? :o
See that?? Whiskers. On a dog. Oh my goodness, my mind is blown. (Btw, that mightaswell be Lily...it looks just like her!) :D

So obviously, I go to Google. Because now, I'm curious. What other animals are overlooked as animals with whiskers? Hmmmmm. . .

A seal! And I am in love with this picture.

A mouse! Of course! They're so darned cute.

This makes me think of that show PB & J Otter...I always loved that show...it's so sad that it's gone. :(

It's TIMON!!!! :D

Wassup doc? (hehee)

So snazzy! I'm just so fascinated right now. Why? Yeah, I really can't say. But nonetheless, the fascination is there! And I've also realized that if you say the word "whisker" enough, it starts to sound really, really odd.

Hope you enjoyed this completely random, nonsensical post! :D

Day Four: a favorite band

So my initial answer to this one was Tenth Avenue North (duh). But I know that a lot of you bloggers share them as your favorite band ;)

So I'm gonna switch things up a bit, and go with my original favorite band, before I found out about Tenth Avenue North. And that wonderful band is Casting Crowns! I still love them just as much as before, and I'm pretty sure I always will. Their songs are so catchy, and have wonderful lyrics...Not to mention, Mark Hall's voice is so frikkin beautiful. Man, I could listen to him sing ALLL day long. With no break.

Plus, I've seen them in concert twice, and both times, they were AMAZING! Oh my goodness, gracious. So, so, so good.

This is definitely my favorite song by Casting Crowns. The lyrics are so powerful, and encouraging. They remind that we are to praise even in the storms of life. That God is God, no matter where we are in life ;)

Day Three: a favorite book

Okay. So this one is obviously going to be difficult, as were days one and two. But this time, it's difficult for another reason besides not being able to choose! See, I guess you could say I don't really have a favorite book at the moment. For like, forever, I've been one of those young adult readers, who read only young adult books. And you know, when you walk into a book store and go to the young adult section, all you see is Twilight-ish stuff. Yeah. Well, a little under a year ago, I really felt as if God was telling me, "It's time to get rid of that stuff!", so I did! And it was amazing. Actually, perhaps I'll post more on that lovely event sometime in the future. But alas, I haven't been reading nearly as much as I used to since then, and therefore don't necessarily have a "favorite book". But! I did just read Elizabeth Elliot's Passion and Purity a few weeks ago, and really liked it! My post on it is here.
SUCH a goood book!

Day Two: a favorite movie!

Ah, once again, this is just too difficult! I've got it narrowed down to like, 4 choices now...hmmm.
Okay. The choice is made. We'll at least say that it's one of my favorite movies.

*sigh* PS I Love You.
So, so so good. I don't think I have ever cried so hard during any other movie. I remember the first time I watched it, I actually had to pause it 2 or 3 times just to sit there and cry!
But while it was terribly sad, it was also terribly romantic. At least the basis of it is!

I mean, come on: A man, knowing that he's going to die, plans for letters and packages to be delivered to his wife after he's gone...all to help her slowly move on with her life. Ahhh!! So romantic! Sad, yes, but romantic!

Not to mention, Gerard Butler is in it...and he sings. Ohh be still my heart!

Anyways. Definitely one of my very favorite movies. It just never gets old ;)

Day One: a favorite song!

This is just not an easy question. At all. There are sooo many amazing songs to choose from! But alas, I'm going to have to go with a secular song at the moment...Your Guardian Angel by the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus just never gets old for me. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it, years ago, and love it just as much now as I did then. I don't know if it's his voice, or the romantic lyrics, or the lovely melody, but it's become a favorite of mine, and I have a feeling it always will be. ;)

Jumping on the blogging bandwagon! ;)

So you know that 30 day challenge that's been going around? Yeah, about halfway through January, I found myself thinking, "Aww man, I wish I had done that!" And now, seeing that a few of those that I follow (Anna, Lily, Jessica, and Bleah) are doing it for February, I figure, why not join along? Although, it will be 28 days, as opposed to 30 ;)
So here goes:
Day 1: A favorite song.
Day 2: A favorite movie.
Day 3: A favorite book.
Day 4: A favorite band.
Day 5: A favorite quote.
Day 6: A moment you wish you could relive.
Day 7: Five things you couldn't possibly live without.
Day 8: A thank you letter to someone who has changed your life.
Day 9: A photo you took.
Day 10: A photo of you taken over ten years ago.
Day 11: A photo of you taken recently.
Day 12: A song that you want played at your wedding.
Day 13: A pastime favorite.
Day 14: A vacation you would like to take.
Day 15: A person you admire.
Day 16: A song that makes you cry.
Day 17: An art piece.
Day 18: A time when you felt passionate and alive.
Day 19: A talent of yours.
Day 20: A hobby of yours.
Day 21: Something you know you do differently than most people.
Day 22: A website.
Day 23: A way in which you want to be remembered.
Day 24: A movie no one would expect you to love.
Day 25: A recipe.
Day 26: A childhood memory.
Day 27: A physical feature you love.
Day 28: Hopes, dreams, and plans you have for the next 365 days.
I'm actually pretty excited to do this. Woot! :D
